I was so touched to receive these photos recently… I painted this little owl as commission, ordered by her mother for Margaret, as a gift for her 65th birthday. I blogged recently about the painting process behind this piece, so I thought it would be nice to share the end result.
I received the photos below, taken by Margaret’s children as she opened her gift from her mom. A great deal of thought and effort went into painting this little barred owlet for her, and I am beyond touched that she was actually moved to tears when she first saw the painting… I was assured that they were “good tears” – just to clarify!!! 😉
Nothing makes me happier than knowing that my paintings are in homes where they are loved and appreciated, and it’s at times such as this that I’m most thankful to be able to bring joy to people, through the gift that I’ve been given.
