Also known as a “Ratel”, this legendarily ferocious creature is mostly nocturnal and will eat pretty much anything. They have incredibly powerful jaws that can chomp down with enough force to break the shell of a tortoise.
Ratel, meaning “honeycomb” in Dutch is also the Afrikaans word for a rattle – when threatened, the honey badger can omit a loud rattling noise, serving as a warning to potential threats. Honey badgers have exceptionally tough skin, at least 6 millimeters thick, which to put into perspective, is thicker than a Buffalo- an animal more than 50 times its size! Interestingly enough, they do also appear to have some immunity to snake venoms.
The Honey Badger has a lifespan of 7-8 years in the wild.
Each print is made using a fine art printer on premium cotton rag paper. The result is a print that is remarkably alike to the original painting. The paper and ink used are both archival which means the print won’t fade over time.
The print size is A4 (297 x 420mm).
